November 7, 2011***Call for Volunteers*** The MFA hosts a number of tournaments annually and we would like to have volunteers to assist in the organization and running of these events;
The MFA can use volunteers for a tournament organization and operations committee as a well as to provide help at the individual events on an occasional basis.
We can always use help in areas such as: Organization including entry forms, medals, awards, Event setup and take down of scoring equipment Food Registration Equipment check/Armoury
Nominal honorariums are paid for weekend long commitments for referees, armoury and tournament director.

When: April 8th, 2011 Friday evening (5:45p-7:45p) University of Winnipeg Fencing Salle
This is the night prior to the Manitoba Provincials Championships so a great opportunity to ensure your equipment is in working order for the 2011 Golden Boy
Cost: Registration is $10 at the clinic (cash or cheque payable to the Manitoba Fencing Association)
Registration: in advance is required to ensure sufficient equipment and handouts are available. Register by emailing your intention to attend to the Manitoba Fencing Association Office prior to April 7th at noon. fencingmb@shawbiz.ca
This clinic will cover how to test and repair weapons (foil, epee, and sabre), body cords and lames. These are topics of relevance for all fencers and this course is geared towards both fencers and parents. No experience is required.
Fencers and parents may bring personnel or club equipment for repair during the clinic. However, spare parts will not be provided, so please bring your own spares parts if they will be required for any repairs to personal or club equipment.

This tournament is one of the selection competitions used to determine the members of the Canadian Olympic Team. Daria was selected for the Canadian National Women's Team two year's ago.
